Pastor Kristen’s Top Five Resources for Families

Pastor Kristen Boles | Bismarck Family & Children's Pastor

·     Now that summer is beginning it's the perfect time to check out some of my favorite resources to use as a family!  Parents often ask for help when it comes to finding solid material that's easy to use and helps the whole family grow together in Christ.  Here are my top 5 "go to" resources that I give to families that I absolutely love!

D6 Family App – D6 Family Focuses on helping the church and homes focus on training children and teens in the way that is described in Deuteronomy 6:4-7. The app offers family fun questions that can be asked around the dinner table, family devotionals to encourage family discipleship and other parenting resources!

·      Raising Prayerful Kids  https://www.raisingprayerfulkids.com/ - The last part of their About Us section explains this perfectly, “Our purpose here is to equip parents with the tools to intentionally teach their children to pray creatively and actively. Throughout this website you will find a variety of fun and approachable prayer activities, resources for teaching about Jesus at home, and encouragement for your heart and soul as a parent. The idea is that anyone, no matter where you are in your faith journey, can find something here. “

·      Raising Tiny Disciples by Phylicia Masonheimer https://phyliciamasonheimer.com/product/raising-tiny-disciples-ebook/ -  Raising Tiny Disciples isn’t a theological guide to raising children, it’s actual advice to enjoy the process of raising kids and to enjoy your kids as well! Phylicia Masonheimer has many other resources that are focused on raising children.

·      Awe & Wonder – Special Needs Ministry Curriculum for the home https://www.specialneedsministryresources.com/ Awe & Wonder has developed a curriculum specifically for those with special needs who need adaptions to better understand and know the Bible. Family Memberships open 4 times a year.

·      Parent Cue App – Much like the D6Family, Parent Cue has discussion questions and family devotions. Parent Cue also offers parenting tips for kids at every developmental stages from Baby to 18!

My prayer for your family is that there would be a hunger growing inside of your home to know Jesus better.  May you encounter the Holy Spirit in a fresh way together, and may you feel encouraged with these resources.  What you're doing is so important and you have lots of people prayer over you as you lead your children to Jesus!
