Fueling the Spirit: More Than a Meal
Underwood Campus Pastor | Ernest Keplin
Have you ever wanted to win a hotdog eating contest? I know I have. You know, any size pizza can be a personal pan pizza if you persevere and believe in yourself. More important than hotdogs and pizza is hunger. I am not talking about physical hunger, but spiritual hunger. In order to be spiritually healthy, we need to be feeding our spirit with God's Word, worship, and prayer.
Psalm 63:1 (NLT) - "O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water."
It is so true that what you put into your spirit is what is going to come out of you. If you fill yourself with the things of the world, you are going to reap the fruits of the world, like depression, fear, anger, anxiety, and hopelessness. When you spend your time filling yourself up with the things of the spirit, you reap the fruits of the spirit, which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. Make your earnest prayer this week to know God more each day!
Blessings,
Pastor Ernest
